Chinese Consul General in Calgary Zhao Liying Attends Promotion Event for the 9th China International Import Expo
On April 28, 2026, the Chinese Consulate General in Calgary, the China International Import Expo Bureau and Bank of China (Canada) co-hosted the promotion event for the 9th China International Import Expo (CIIE) in Calgary—the first CIIE promotion event held in the city. More than 100 government and business representatives from Alberta, Saskatchewan, Canada and China attended.
In her remarks, Mme. Zhao highlighted the CIIE as an important platform for China’s continued opening-up and for businesses worldwide to access opportunities in the Chinese market. She noted the strong potential for trade and economic cooperation between China and Western Canada and encouraged Alberta and Saskatchewan businesses to participate in the CIIE, showcase their products and explore new opportunities in China.
