Chinese Consul General in Mumbai Qin Jie Attends the BRICS Friendship Cities Conclave

On August 11, Consul General Qin Jie was invited to attend the inaugural section of the BRICS Friendship Cities Conclave, where he met and engaged in exchanges with Mr. Jishnu Dev Varma, Governor of Maharashtra, and Mr. Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra.

Mr. Qin said that China sent a delegation composed of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, Shanghai Municipality, and Beijing Municipality to attend the forum, reflecting China's strong support for India in hosting the Conclave. He expressed China's willingness to strengthen sister-city cooperation with Maharashtra, promote local-level exchanges, and contribute to the positive development of bilateral relations, while wishing the Conclave a complete success. Both dignitaries extended a warm welcome and expressed their appreciation for China's participation.

Organized by "Mumbai First," the BRICS Friendship Cities Conclave takes place in Mumbai from August 11 to 12. The Consulate presented displays on Chinese culture and urban development at the venue, engaging in interactive exchanges with the attending guests.
